Radiation-resistant graded-index multimode optical fibers based on fluorosilicate glass

Using the MCVD-technology, radiation-resistant multimode optical fibers based on fluorosilicate glass with a gradient refractive index profile were developed. Radiation-induced attenuation (RIA) of light in was compared literature data analogous manufactured by PCVD-technology. It found out that RIA MCVD-fibers at wavelength λ=1310 nm under γ-irradiation doses up to 10 kGy is 1-2 dB/km (19-29%) lower than Super RadHard fiber produced PCVD-technology and previously supposed have record-high radiation resistance.
